Summary:

Working closely with R&D, Commercial, Operations, and leadership teams, the Software Product Manager will be responsible for managing the software product portfolio for Vizgen’s transformative MERSCOPE platform. This person will be incredibly customer-centric, advocating for the best user experience considering usability, platform design, cybersecurity, and the specific user-facing requirements for the product. The ideal candidate will be comfortable coordinating with cross-functional internal teams, external development partners, business stakeholders, and customers. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven individual to apply their product management expertise to help build valuable research tools that will enable novel insight into key biological questions.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of the Vizgen software roadmap and revenue forecast in coordination with appropriate stakeholders
  • Collaborate with R&D and Marketing teams to identify, write, build consensus, and manage user-focused software requirements
    • Support NPI process with appropriate business case justification and return on investment
    • Complete product management documentation and operational tasks required to fulfill the product development process (PDP)
  • Coordinate with software QA team to ensure implementation achieves specified requirements
  • Work collaboratively with R&D and other product managers to ensure platforms work smoothly together
  • Interface with customers and conduct market research to provide voice of customer to guide software development and requirements
    • Develop, articulate, and validate crisp and compelling value propositions and messaging to leverage in sales tools and guide customer support materials
    • Represent Vizgen in a professional and friendly way when engaging with both external and internal customers
 Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, software user experience, or related field.
  • Familiarity with single-cell and/or spatial analysis, genomics analysis, or imaging analysis
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience developing and managing software programs including user requirements creation and management; Experience with start-up companies preferred
  • Experience working on web-based, enterprise-scale, multi-user applications. Experience with genomics tools would also be preferred.
  • Some experience with cloud-based business models
  • Experience in leading the development of mobile applications would be a bonus
  • Demonstrated understanding of product development processes, strategies, and methods
  • Preferred experience with the following tools:
    • Jira Product Management Software
    • Microsoft Sharepoint
    • Confluence
  • Flexible in dealing with dynamic situations and able to think innovatively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
