Job Summary
GentiBio is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist I/II to join our vector production team and help advance platform engineering to support GentiBio’s cell therapy programs. The successful candidate will report to the Senior/Principal Scientist leading the core and support the development of engineered Treg cells by employing cutting-edge molecular techniques to design, create, and validate DNA constructs. We are searching for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about working at the bench to advance programs and solve technical challenges. Job Responsibilities

  • Foster the culture of seeking and giving help, inclusion, authenticity, and fun
  • Perform and troubleshoot molecular cloning to support company objectives
  • Prepare plasmid stocks, perform quality control of plasmid DNA, and maintain records for the plasmid database
  • Extract DNA/RNA from cells/tissues and perform PCR-based assays
  • Help establish protocols and research capabilities
  • Maintain electronic lab notebooks and communicate results to the scientific team
  • Work independently and collaborate with scientific colleagues in support of team goals

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS in molecular biology, bioengineering or related field and 1+ years of relevant industry experience OR
  • MS in relevant field with 0 years of industry experience 
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following molecular biology techniques: including plasmid/genomic DNA purification, primer design, cloning (e.g., traditional, Golden Gate, Gibson assembly), PCR, and gel electrophoresis
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with an ability to embrace change and multi-task in a fast-growing environment
