Position Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager with a proven track record of developing products from concept, to feasibility, design, implementation, and testing. As a Technical Project Manager at Vizgen reporting to the Director of Technology and Partnerships, you will manage projects that expand the capabilities of our first of its kind spatial transcriptomics platform through new analysis tools and functionality. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven individual to apply their project management expertise to help build valuable research tools that will enable novel insight into key biological questions. 

 Plan, manage, communicate, and execute Vizgen’s technical product development projects to drive them toward timely completion through the full research and development process
●    Analyze, plan, and develop requirements for bioinformatics and software projects, incorporating feedback from relevant stakeholders 
●    Coordinate interdisciplinary internal resources and third parties across bioinformatics, software, and other functional groups to successfully execute projects
●    Scope and manage project budget, resources, and timelines
●    Define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for Vizgen staff required for specific projects
●    Understand, evaluate, and document technology options, risks, and design decisions 

 Job Qualifications:

BS/MS in engineering, mathematics, computational biology, or related technical field
●    Demonstrated ability to manage the development of new computational tools from feasibility and requirements gathering to product launch, managing the coordination between bioinformatics, data scientists, software development, and other stakeholders
●    6+ years managing product development for biotechnology tools, software, or devices.
●    Demonstrated understanding of project management processes, strategies, and methods
●    Hands-on technical expertise to understand and manage technical risks and coordinate interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems 
●    Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
●    Experience managing and fostering collaboration across complex projects that include diverse functional groups, including hardware, software, and bioinformatics
