Senior/Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

GentiBio is seeking a self-driven, collaborative, results-oriented, and creative Principal or Senior Data Engineer to join our Automation, Informatics and IT team in Seattle. The successful candidate will design, implement, qualify and support data automation and informatics solutions in support of GentiBio's engineered regulatory T-cells (EngTregs) programs. We strive to develop reliable, repeatable, and robust systems that have a significant impact on efficiency and quality. The ability to work independently as an IT and data expert while partnering with our talented scientists is critical to the role. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with a diverse set of software technologies and a working knowledge of IT infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Foster the culture of seeking and giving help, inclusion, authenticity, and fun
  • Specify, develop, test and support automated data pipelines for both process and analytical operations for engineered regulatory T-cell programs
  • Partner with Analytical Development, Process Development, Research and Translational teams to align on the key equipment used to ensure it is compatible with data automation
  • Collaborate with peers in these cross-functional teams to ensure that prioritized activities are completed to a high standard and on time
  • Collaborate with peers in Analytical Development, Process Development, Research, and Translational to develop and implement data governance standards and best practices
  • Actively contribute with cross-functional teams by sharing technical expertise and experiences and effectively communicating results
  • Help build the company’s data and IT infrastructure and culture

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • B.S./M.S. in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline with 6+ years, or Ph.D. with 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience implementing commercial IT solutions into an enterprise
  • Expertise in enterprise IT security and standard identity management technologies
  • Expert in implementing data pipelines in a modern object-oriented language, C# preferred
  • Experience managing external vendor partnerships
  • Experience qualifying and providing long-term support for data pipelines
  • Demonstrated success working in cross functional teams
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and focus on key deliverables
  • Experience working with process equipment and data is preferred
  • Experience with flow cytometry, qPCR and ELISA type assays is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with deploying solutions into GxP environments is preferred
