Job Summary
GentiBio is seeking an experienced translational scientist to join our team in Boston, MA, and lead the translational development of EngTregs and other cellular therapies in our pipeline. Reporting to the VP of Translational Science, the successful candidate will lead the development of translational strategies to support IND enabling studies, including biodistribution and toxicology requirements in PoC studies. In addition, this individual will be responsible for establishing links between nonclinical studies and clinical indications, including defining relevant biomarkers, cellular kinetics, and clinically relevant endpoints. The incumbent will work cross-functionally, coordinating between Discovery, Bioanalytical Sciences, Manufacturing, and Clinical Development teams. This role offers exposure to multiple facets of an organizational and company build, a prominent leadership role within Translational Science and company at large, and an ample opportunity to be a high impact trailblazer in the emerging field of regulatory T-cell therapy. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Foster the culture of seeking and giving help, inclusion, authenticity, and fun
  • Lead the translational development of our EngTreg programs
  • Design, execute, and interpret complex preclinical studies serving multiple objectives (biodistribution, safety, toxicology, etc.)
  • Establish the link between non-clinical studies and clinical endpoints in FIH trials
  • Develop plans to evaluate on- and off-target editing
  • Define biomarker, cellular kinetic, and immunogenicity strategies in coordination with the bioanalytical director
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • PharmD, PhD or MD with at least 7-10 years of experience in translational sciences, translational medicine, clinical pharmacology, or precision medicine
  • Experience working with cellular/gene therapies required
  • Background in designing and conducting complex preclinical biodistribution, safety, and toxicology studies required
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory guidance for cellular therapies required
  • Extensive experience authoring IND modules required
  • Familiarity and experience evaluating on and off-target analysis preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership required
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong adaptability to changes 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others to solve complex problems
