Job Summary
GentiBio is seeking an experienced Director of Program Management who will play an integral part in the execution and operations of GentiBio’s portfolio programs and platform activities. The Director of Program Management will partner with the program and platform team leaders to ensure program strategy is defined and translated into an integrated development and operational plan that meets GentiBio’s objectives. This is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role requiring an understanding of critical path activities, assumptions, risks, and mitigation strategies. In addition to supporting cutting-edge science and GentiBio’s lead program in T1D, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in creating a leading program management function through the development and deployment of processes and tools in a function that will grow with the company.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a technical, operational, or scientific role in cell and gene therapy before cross-training into a project management role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with team leaders to drive strategy development, creation of an integrated development plan, and execution of the associated operational plan
  • Set a clear vision around goals, milestones, assumptions, risks, timelines, budget, and other key program deliverables while partnering with team members to maximize value creation and achievement of program goals
  • Collaborate with team leaders and members to develop scenarios and contingency plans as options and considerations for review/endorsement
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to create and oversee budgets
  • Ensure clarity and strong communication across the core program team, extended team, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate project deliverables with the CMC project manager to ensure seamless transitions between research, CMC, and clinical trial needs
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships with external partners in academia and industry
  • Support activities to create a right-sized program management function with standards and tools that can be used across the portfolio
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • BS is required and an advanced degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years overall industry experience with 4 years of experience managing projects/programs at a pre-clinical and clinical-stage within the biopharma or healthcare industry is required
  • Expertise in cell or gene therapy is desirable, or in place of that experience, having the interest and ability to understand GentiBio’s technology is required
  • Deep understanding of the drug development process
  • Proficiency with MS Project and/or Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint is required
  • Certification in program management and/or alliance management is a strong asset
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
  • Proven ability to form strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to travel is required, primarily to GentiBio’s locations (Cambridge and Seattle)
