Global Product Manager, Assays and Reagents

Working closely with R&D, Commercial, Operations, and leadership teams, the Global Product Manager will be responsible for managing the assays and reagents for Vizgen’s transformative MERSCOPE platform. This Cambridge, MA position will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of the portfolio from concept to development, to commercialization and marketing, to operational excellence, business growth, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as product champion for our assay and reagent portfolio.
  • Strategically evaluate new product opportunities and initiate PDP process
  • Work closely with Business Development, R&D and Marketing to develop and execute go-to-market strategies
  • Partner with Marketing to:
    • Prepare and deliver go to market strategies and tactics for new products and assays that drive product revenue
    • Develop, articulate, and validate crisp and compelling value propositions and messaging to target audiences
    • Develop effective sales tools and application roadmaps for global market execution
    • Interface with customers and conduct market research to provide voice of customer and commercial input into the product development process
    • Development and execution of strategic and tactical marketing events and promotional campaigns, including user group meetings
    • Represent Vizgen in a professional and friendly way when engaging with both external and internal customers
  • Work with R&D to:
    • Ensure product performance meets customer expectations and explore ways for continuous improvement and market adoption
    • Serve as liaison and product expert for co-development and co-commercialization programs with external partners
    • Develop expert-level knowledge of Vizgen’s reagents and chemistry with respect to how they impact the performance of the platform
  • Work cross functionally to:
    • Build product roadmaps and revenue forecasts for the 5-year strategic plan
    • Support NPI process with appropriate business case justification and return on investment
    • Complete product management documentation and operational tasks required to fulfill the product development process (PDP)
    • Provide demand forecasting to Operations based on Commercial inputs

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences mandatory; advanced degrees preferred
  • 3+ years of product management or commercial experience in life science genomics or imaging fields
  • Deep market knowledge and experience working with customers in the life sciences field
  • Good familiarity with laboratory techniques including RNA-ISH, single-cell sequencing, fluorescent microscopy; IHC; histology and sample management workflows
  • Strong understanding of the business factors related to the lifecycle management of reagent products
  • Experience in both start-up and large companies preferred
  • Flexible in dealing with dynamic situations and able to think innovatively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time both domestic and international
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and efficient in meeting deliverables
  • Highly proficient in the use of business platform tools including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, documentation control, and other relevant software applications
