Position Summary:
Reporting to the Lab Services Director and working closely with Vizgen’s Leadership Team, the Project Manager will play a key role in coordinating, planning, and driving projects within our client-facing Lab Services Team. This project manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of all customer and collaborator projects, managing of team resources, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data collected using Vizgen’s MERFISH spatial transcriptomics platform.
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day project management oversight; effectively planning, coordinating, and directing multiple projects for both external collaborators and customers
  • Effectively communicate project priorities and goals to the Lab Services team in order to ensure all deadlines are met to guarantee a satisfactory customer experience
  • Consult with the Lab Services Director and appropriate scientific staff on issues as they arise and craft creative and innovative solutions to address any concerns
  • Develop tools and templates to effectively manage resource utilization and track resource capacity, to keep projects on budget
  • Help develop SOP’s and document templates to ensure consistency and quality of the operational activities
  • Support customer contracting, SOW’s, quoting process, and delivery of final reports
  • Present project plans to senior management and provide regular updates throughout the project management lifecycle to effectively manage expectations of progress against planned commitments
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to advance quality processes and capabilities
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS/MS or Ph.D. degree in a biological science discipline with at least 5+ years of experience in project management, operations leadership, continuous improvement, or strategic planning
  • Minimum 3 years in Lab Services Project Management
  • Previous experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: bioimaging, genomics, sequencing, single-cell analysis, tissue sample preparation, FISH, IHC, oligonucleotide-based chemistries, and fluorescent-based imaging
  • Experience managing and prioritizing input from diverse stakeholders to develop plans that meet the needs of both the company and its customers
  • Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and implementing and leveraging metrics
  • Must be highly organized, disciplined, and efficient in meeting deliverables

  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in drafting scientific study and contract documents
  • Highly skilled in the use of business platform tools including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, project management tools, documentation control, and other relevant software applications
